The gaps are where
the interesting things live

Rachel Ankerholz

I build at the intersections — where neuroscience meets technology, where trauma theory meets product design, where lived experience meets rigorous frameworks. My work follows a single pattern: experience a gap, then build the thing that fills it.

I'm an IT Director managing technology infrastructure for 45,000 scholars across a global academic community. That practitioner lens shapes everything I write and build — I don't theorize about AI governance from the outside. I implement it from inside the infrastructure.

I write UncheckedAI — a Substack about AI ethics, data sovereignty, and who gets left behind when we build systems.

The Tilled Mind Method

Book · Journal · App

A neuroscience-based, six-stage system for healing trauma through your nervous system. Not new tools — a new sequence. Regulate first, then identify, clear, process, recover, and sustain. The right things, in the right order, at the pace your body can absorb.

Live Wind Sonification

An eleven-instrument orchestra conducted by real wind. Live NOAA data mapped through just intonation, golden ratio phrasing, and sympathetic resonance — strings, winds, brass, and percussion across four orchestral families. Temperature chooses the scale. No two performances are ever the same.
